The plain front of this shirt reflects the growing austerity in men's clothing.
After much experimentation we have found a cotton cambric which replicates the crisp cotton used in C19th. It is a humble cloth and the odd flaws adds to the very authentic look.
These shirts were customarily worn with separate stiff collars so the neckbands are made with the appropriate buttonholes.
Do keep in mind it is usual to add 1/2" to the neckband collar size so a 15.5" shirt would need a 16" collar.
