Shipping policy
*2025 International Shipping Information*
We are aware of the current changes around the world and the effect this is having on our customers.
Firstly, we would like to apologise for any issues you are facing with customs and have released the below statement. We are here to work with you and are actively looking for solutions to these issues daily. Any new developments and/or updates will be posted here.
For shipments to the EU, you will not be charged UK VAT at the point of purchase, but you may be liable for duty and/ or tax charges once the goods have been shipped. This will be according to the rules in your country. These additional charges are to be borne by you. We have no control over these charges and we can not predict when they may occur or how much they will be. This is because customs policies vary widely from country to country; you should contact your local customs office for further details. We are aware these costs can be high, however, this is completely out of our control and we can only apologise for any inconvenience caused. We are constantly reviewing options to benefit our customers and will employ any that we can.
So far we have discovered this particularly affects customers in USA, Sweden and Denmark with very high additional charges.
For shipments to the US, due to the changes with customs as of Friday 29th August, ALL shipments will now be subject to duties and/or tax charges once the goods have been shipped. These additional charges are to be borne by you. We have no control over these charges and we can not predict when they may occur or how much they will be. We are still shipping to the US via DHL and want to work with our US customers to try and find solutions to these issues where we can. We can only apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. We are constantly reviewing options to benefit our customers and will employ any that we can.
Postage and packing (shipping)
All orders are delivered by Royal Mail or DHL depending on the value of your goods and/or the chosen option at checkout. This cost will be added after the checkout button.
Please note we cannot send orders out to PO boxes. If an order is placed with a PO box shipping address, we will contact you for an alternative address.
As of October 2022, we have shipped almost all orders with our courier, DHL. Our shipping prices now reflect this change. DHL is a more reliable service with guaranteed delivery dates and more flexible options when receiving parcels. We do still offer Royal Mail first and second class, however this is not a guaranteed service and we cannot guarantee delivery dates or times when Royal Mail are on strike. If you would like to avoid strike action delays, we would recommend you select Express Courier at checkout so your order is sent with DHL.
As of 1st January 2021, the UK is no longer part of the EU. From this date, customers from outside of the UK will not be charged UK VAT at the point of purchase, but may be liable for duty and/ or VAT charges once the goods have been shipped. This will be according to the rules in your country. These additional charges are to be borne by you. We have no control over these charges and we can not predict when they may occur or how much they will be. This is because customs policies vary widely from country to country; you should contact your local customs office for further details.
For certain orders, the carriage added on the web site is insufficient. Should this happen we will contact you about the additional cost. If we do require extra payment from you and your shipping is selected as express, your order will be held for a maximum of three days before being sent standard shipping if this is possible. We will not send out garments without the full amount required to do so.
We are obliged to charge VAT on Carriage because it is classed as a service (Post and Packing) and therefore attracts tax according to HMRC regulations.
Additional fees may be charged by our third party delivery providers (DHL and/or Royal Mail). These fees are to be borne by you unless otherwise agreed in written communication. Darcy Clothing accept no fault with regards to third party fees and are not liable to cover such costs. Darcy Clothing cannot advise on anything to do with fees from a third party, you will need to contact the provider directly with any complaints or queries with regards to fees.
Darcy Clothing are not liable for any damages caused to products by customs or third party providers. You are to raise this issue with the individual companies. We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation.
