Sample Pleated Front Grey Flannel Trousers (TR1920-GF)
Sold OutSaleWe are experimenting with making our pleated front trousers in grey flannel. This wool is so fabulously soft it doesn't need lining. Drapes beautifully!
There are only three pairs available right now, October 2025 but once we are happy with them, more will be introduced.
We are selling them at a reduced price but would love whoever buys them to let us know how they work. Are they soft enough? Is the fit good? Do you want braces buttons?
These classic pleat front trousers were first worn in 1920's when they were known as Oxford Bags. Extreme versions were developed reaching an audacious 44" hem width.
They continued to be popular throughout the century most notably in 1950's.
These are a great cut, fitted at the back and with just enough room at the front.
These samples were made with a traditional button fly. There are no braces buttons on these samples but they do have belt loops and a back pocket with flap.
Split back waistband.
They are true to size, unlike many of our other trousers so for the best fit measure around the true waist (navel height) and buy that size.
Inside leg unfinished at 37in which allows sufficient fabric for turn-ups
Sizes: 34 and 36" only
Hem width : 24"
