Coloured Linen C18th Shirts (SH120C)

Availability: In stock

We have had some of our very popular standard C18th shirts made up in subtle period colours.
This makes them ideal for rougher characters as they do not need to be dyed.

This shirt uses the standard C18th square gusset pattern and is made from a very fine linen which softens wonderfully when washed.
These are voluminous garments cut in the same way as the originals of the period. Perfect for C18th costume, not ideal for those familiar only with C21st clothing who may find them intimidatingly large.
Shirts of this style were still worn far in C19th particularly by working class men as depicted by Ford Maddox Brown.

These shirts may shrink slightly, especially if tumble dried but the measurements given here are taken AFTER washing.
